Augmented Reality on mobile devices

On mobile devices like iOS and Android phones and Tablets, you can use Arkio in Augmented Reality to view your models at a smaller scale on any surface in the real world.

You can toggle AR mode on by selecting the AR icon on the top left of your toolbar. Once this mode is activated, you can point your device's camera at any surface. When your device detects a surface, it will display blue dots. Tap once on these dotted surfaces to place the Arkio table scene on that position.

If you would like to reposition or rotate the model after placement, you can enter adjustment mode by clicking the button in the bottom right corner. As long as this mode is active, your tools are deactivated, and a swipe on your screen will rotate the model around its centre.

You can also scale the model up or down using a pinch gesture or one of the predefined architectural scales in the bottom UI.

You can get out of AR mode by pressing the AR button on the top ribbon again (icon next to the section mode)

Using Arkio in AR, you can collaboratively view your model on a table while others are working on the same models in VR devices, and you can load large imported models on mobile devices. You can even scale your designs up to 1:1 scale to position a building in its actual location.

AR editing

Editing and creating geometry is also possible in AR (experimental). We would love to hear your feedback on how you would like to use this feature in Augmented Reality.
