Arkioโ€™s tools are all accessible via the main menu. There are currently three ways to show the menu:

  1. Left-hand palette: Twist the left controller outwards so your palm is facing up to open the menu, twist the controller inwards so your palm is facing down again to close the menu

  2. Floating menu: Quickly press the controller's green menu button to show the menu floating in front of you. The menu can be closed again by briefly pressing the green buttons again or by grabbing the menu at the center and throwing it away.

  3. Quick selection: Press and hold the green button - select a tool by simply hovering the 8 main tools in the tool circle or hovering the other tools, and use the trigger to activate those tools or menus

Moving the menu

You can always grab the menu from the center using the trigger and place it in a fixed position in the scene. Additionally, you can move the drawers and other Arkio UI panels.

Favorites

The first ring of Arkio's Main Menu serves as a favorites palette, allowing you to drag and drop your favorite objects and colors from the corresponding drawers. The outer ring contains all the primary editing tools, where an outline shows the active tool for that controller. The inner ring acts as a shortcut to your favorite paint materials for newly created primitive shapes.

Main Tools

You can use the laser to select a tool by aiming at the icon and pulling the trigger, or by physically touching the menu button with your index finger while using hand-tracking. From the top, clockwise, the primary editing tools are:

  • Edit - Edit faces, edges and points to stretch or scale the shapes - toggle between orthogonal edits and freeform edits from your wristband

  • Delete - Delete objects - toggle between the full object or individual faces on your wristband

  • Paint - Apply materials - toggle between the full object or individual faces on your wristband

  • Sketch - Draw a free-form sketch on any existing surface in Arkio - toggle between sketching 3D or 2D surfaces on your wristband

  • Move - Pick up and move objects and their children with the laser - You can rotate and duplicate the held object by pressing the thumbstick or green menu button.

  • Group - Group objects together by drawing a selection cube around the object

  • Create - Create new geometry and objects based on the selected primitive or asset - toggle between creating a normal one-layer shape or a multi-level stack from your wristband

  • Pin - Pin objects in the scene to disable moving/editing/deleting of the objects
